A driver software is a set of the program used as an intermediator between the computer OS and hardware. Drivers allow an unbreakable passage to computer and printer machine so that the communication could be flawless.
Over time, Canon printers start to show their age. The reason could be anything for this very problem, and the only and effective solution Canon Support has is proper drivers’ configuration. To that end, you need your device driver software CD; if the CD is not in your possession then you can download them from Canon’s official site. To this end, follow the below-listed steps:
- Bring up the Canon Printers’ website on your computer by searching the same on the internet using a web browser.
- Here, on the site, search your device; enter the product number/model number. Make sure to use the correct one.
- As you do that, a list will appear on the screen, select the right one from that list.
- Now, double-click the EXE file according to your OS version and accept Terms & Conditions to begin downloading.
- After completion, double-click the downloaded EXE file.
- Click the Continue button to initialise it.
- Now, wait few minutes and let it complete.
- Follow the on-screen instructions, mark only the necessary ones.
- For instance: If you don’t require additional software, deselect them by marking.
